Xbox codes can be redeemed three ways. All of them work, so pick whichever is in front of you.

On your Xbox console

1. Press the Xbox button to open the guide and make sure you are signed in.
2. Go to Store, then find the option to redeem a code.
3. Enter your 25-character code and confirm.

On Windows PC

1. Open the Microsoft Store or Xbox app and sign in.
2. Open the menu and select Redeem a code.
3. Paste your code and confirm.

In a browser

Sign in to your Microsoft account, go to the redeem page, enter the code and confirm. The content is added to your account and will appear on any device you sign in to.

Region locks: read this before you buy anywhere

This is the part that catches people out. Xbox keys are almost always tied to a specific country. A code sold as a Turkish or Argentinian key requires a Microsoft account registered in that country. If your account is Romanian, the code will be rejected — and changing your account region is not a simple fix, because it affects your existing purchases and payment methods.

Cheap Xbox keys from unclear sources are also the ones most likely to be revoked weeks after redemption, if Microsoft determines they came from an unauthorised purchase.

We state the activation region on every product page. If a key says EUROPE, it works on a European account. If it says GLOBAL, there is no restriction.

Common errors

• "This code is not valid or has expired" — check for typos first, then check whether the code is region-locked to another country.
• "This code can't be redeemed in your country" — a clear region mismatch.
• "You already own this" — the content is already on your account, possibly via Game Pass.

Aici se împiedică majoritatea. Cheile Xbox sunt aproape întotdeauna legate de o anumită țară. Un cod vândut ca fiind turcesc sau argentinian necesită un cont Microsoft înregistrat în acea țară. Dacă ai cont din România, codul va fi respins — iar schimbarea regiunii contului nu este o soluție simplă, pentru că afectează achizițiile existente și metodele de plată.

Cheile Xbox ieftine din surse neclare sunt și cele mai predispuse la revocare, la săptămâni după activare, dacă Microsoft stabilește că provin dintr-o achiziție neautorizată.
