Players assume control of one of several unique civilizations, each with its own narrative, units, and gameplay mechanics, vying for dominance or survival on a dying world.

Core Gameplay Mechanics

The game integrates standard 4X elements:

• eXplore: Players uncover a procedurally generated map, revealing resources, minor factions, and anomalies.
• eXpand: Factions establish cities, manage populations, and build infrastructure to grow their empire.
• eXploit: Resources (Food, Industry, Dust, Science, Influence) are gathered and utilized for construction, research, and military production.
• eXterminate: Combat occurs on a tactical battlefield, with units possessing distinct abilities and roles.

Additional Features:

• Asymmetric Factions: Each of the eight primary factions in the Classic Edition possesses distinct unit rosters, economic models, and victory conditions, promoting varied playstyles.
• Minor Factions: Neutral minor factions populate the world, which can be assimilated through quests or conquered militarily, adding their unique unit types to the player's army.
• Hero System: Powerful hero units can lead armies or govern cities, providing bonuses and leveling up through experience.
• Quest System: Story-driven and procedural quests guide players, offering rewards and influencing faction narratives.
• Technology Tree: A multi-era technology tree allows for research into new buildings, units, and abilities.
• Diplomacy: Players can engage in various diplomatic actions with other major factions, including trade, alliances, and declarations of war.
