Game Overview:
Blood West is a survival horror FPS set in a cursed Weird West. Players assume the role of a resurrected outlaw, tasked with combating supernatural entities and uncovering the source of the encroaching darkness. The game features a non-linear campaign structure across three distinct scenarios, each offering a unique environment and set of challenges.
Core Gameplay Mechanics:
- Stealth and Combat: Players can choose between a stealth-focused approach, utilizing cover and suppressed attacks, or engaging in direct, often brutal, combat with a variety of period-appropriate and supernatural weaponry.
- Exploration and Resource Management: Environments are designed for exploration, with hidden areas, resources, and lore fragments to discover. Players must manage limited ammunition, healing items, and other consumables to survive.
- Character Progression: Experience is gained through combat and objective completion, allowing players to unlock new abilities and upgrade existing skills, tailoring their outlaw to a preferred playstyle.
- Environmental Storytelling: The narrative is primarily conveyed through found notes, journals, and the atmospheric design of the game world.
- Permadeath Elements: The game incorporates elements of permadeath, where significant setbacks or character death can lead to lasting consequences within a playthrough.
The Gold Edition includes the base game along with all previously released content and future updates, providing a complete experience of the Blood West universe.
